STRUCTURE & FEES

DADS Unlimited's parenting coaching service focuses on common, everyday parenting challenges that benefit from coaching. Referrals are often made by word-of-mouth and come from school, social service, health, and mental health professionals. Should the parenting challenges identified not lend themselves to short-term assistance, Mr. Shedlin may recommend a specialist from another field.

Most of DADS Unlimited's clients come from Maryland, DC, and Northern Virginia, but because of the way the service is structured (telephone sessions), Mr. Shedlin is able to see clients outside the region. He schedules regular visits to the New York area. If a cluster of clients can be arranged he is able to travel to other areas, both nationally and internationally.

Because parenting is a dynamic, interactive process, it is useful for Mr. Shedlin to be aware of the physical setting and to meet as many of the "players" as possible. Thus, the initial session may take place in your home. The Parenting Housecall™ (lasts approximately two hours). If necessary, however, you may schedule this introductory meeting in Allan Shedlin's office.

After you have worked with Mr. Shedlin to identify the issue(s), together you will determine a convenient time for four half-hour telephone consultations to be conducted over the course of the next month. If the issue is school-related, it may be determined that it would be useful for Mr. Shedlin to visit your child's school - with or without you - to serve as a liaison, or "broker" between family and school.
